The "Zośka" and "Czata 49" ("Watch 49") battalions barely manage to keep the premises of the "Fiat" Automobile Factory under their control, but at great cost. The Germans capture the area between Wójtowska, Zakroczymska and Przyrynek Streets.
Fierce fights along Piwna, Długa, Podwale, Mostowa Streets. In the south of the Old Town the enemy bursts into the ruins of the Town Hall, the Blank Palace, the Canoness Sisters Monastery. A German attack on Bielańska Street is repelled..
Every several minutes the shrinking territory of defense is pelted with bombs by German Stukas.

Colonel Antoni Chruściel "Monter" ("Assembler") approves the plan of evacuating the Old Town on the night of August 30 and 31.

Heavy shelling of Środmieście and Powiśle. General Rohr's group is storming Sadyba - an important resistance point in Mokotów.

In North Śródmieście the unit commanded by Captain Bolesław Kontrym "Żmudzin" successfully holds off a strong German attack launched from the Saxon Garden towards Królewska Street.

Far away in Mokotów the companies of the "Oaza" ("Oasis") battalion and the decimated remains of the Home Army "Jeleń" ("Stag") division led by Cavalry Captain Lech Głuchowski "Jeżycki" put up fierce resistance in the defense of Sadyba.

The Germans record heavy casualties - 150 soldiers daily on average. They report that without reinforcements quick successes can be forgotten about. General von dem Bach demands reinforcements in the form of one division.

The UK government grants veteran rights to the Home Army soldiers, thus acknowledging them as an integral part of the Polish Army.
