The Germans are intensifying their attacks on the beachhead in Czerniaków.
In the morning, further reinforcements from the 9th Infantry Regiment land on the Czerniaków beachhead. Around 1200 well-armed soldiers in total have come to the rescue of the insurgents, including the troops that arrived yesterday.
About 200 soldiers lose their lives while crossing the river.
The Berlinger's soldiers together with Home Army troops take positions in the houses on Idźkowskiego and Zagórna Streets.
The defenders of the beachhead repel all the enemy attacks and even manage to recapture the house at 5/7 Idźkowskiego Street.

One company from the 6th Infantry Regiment of the 2nd Infantry Division of the Polish People's Army gets across to Marymont.

The insurgents attempt to create another passage to Czerniaków in the area of Książęca Street, but to no avail.

Heavy bombardment of Mokotów and Śródmieście. The German artillery fire on Żoliborz and Mokotów is getting stronger.

Paul Vyss, a delegate of the International Red Cross, arrives at the Pruszków camp.

In the Netherlands, the 1st Polish Independent Parachute Brigade under the command of Major General Stanisław Sosabowski makes a landing on the west bank of the Rhine in the vicinity of Driel and Oosterbeek as part of Operation Market Garden.
