The photo report of participation of SPPW 1944 members in the celebration of the 75th Warsaw Uprising anniversary - 2019

          In the year 2019 members of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association participated in the most important events connected with the celebration of the 75th Warsaw Uprising anniversary. They laid flowers in the particular places of solemnities.

          On July 29 the Association Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque of the Home Army District "Żywiciel".

          July 31 was the day of the exposition opening as well as the promotion of an album entitled "Jerzy - Ryszard Białous - the Home Army Bettalion's "Zośka" commander". It took place in the Central Agricultural Library named after Michał Oczapowski in 66 Krakowskie Przedmieście street. The Association Honorary Chairman Mr. Maciej Janaszek-Seydlitz joined the event.
          The Chairman and his assistants Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Barbara Rumianek participated in the celebration in the Krasiński Square on July 31.



          On August 1 Mrs. Halina Grabowska, the Association Auditorial Commision's member and the Association member Mr. Andrzej Gałązka took part in a ceremony by the plaque in memory of General Antoni Chruściel a.k.a. "Monter". On the same day the Association Board Minuter Mrs. Ewa Furmańska and the Association Board members Mrs. Iwona Rusek and Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the monument "Fighting Mokotów 1944".




          Also on August 1 Mrs. Ewa Furmańska and Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid flowers by the monument in honour of General Stefan Rowecki a.k.a. "Grot" and by the Monument of the Polish Underground State and the Home Army.




          In the evening of August 1 the Chairman Mr. Maciej Białecki, the Vice-chairman Mrs. Maria Poprawa, the member of the Board Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz and the Association member Mrs. Janina Mańkowska participated in the ceremony at the Warsaw Insurgents' Cemetery in Wola district.




          On August 2 Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz joined the ceremony of unveiling the monument of General Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski, which took place in the Marshall Edward Rydz-Śmigły park in Czerniaków district.




          Also on August 2 Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mrs. Ewa Furmańska, Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Barbara Rumianek participated in the exhibition opening "The Warsaw Uprising Anniversary Posters for the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association" by Ewa Taryma-Myśliński that took place in the auditorium of the Warsaw Insurgents' Association.




          The exhibition was open between August 1 and August 22 in Krakowskie Przedmieście outside the St. Anne's church.





          In the evening of August 2 outside the Wizytki church in Krakowskie Przedmieście the exhibition "Eroica" was opened. Its author, Mr. Bogusław Lustyk, is the Association SPPW 1944 member. The exhibition was to be seen until October 2, 2019.







          On August 3 the "Wisła" cinema became the place of promotion of a documentary film entitled "General Motyl" about General Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski a.k.a. "Motyl", directed by Małgorzata Brama. In the event participated the following Association members: Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mrs. Ewa Furmańska, Mrs. Halina Grabowska, and Mrs. Maria Poprawa.



          An interpreter of the texts on our website into the Russian language, Mrs. Katarzyna Charitonowa, participated in the solemnities that took part in the first few days of August. She came to Warsaw from her home town Mińsk (Belarus) especially on that anniversary occasion.




          Warsaw was also the destination for Ms. Monika Ałasa, the Association member and interpreter of the texts on our website into the English language, whose annual tradition is to honour the Warsaw Uprising anniversary. This year Monika was happy to have come from Lublin to:













           On August 5 Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Iwona Rusek laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque commemorating acquiring the "Gęsiówka" concentration camp by the "Zośka" battalion.







          In the afternoon of August 5 Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz together with the Association member, the granddaughter of the "Warsaw Niobe" Mrs. Monika Lurie took part in ceremonies by the monument of the Wola Manslaughter's Casualties, and then participated in the march to the Warsaw Insurgents' Cemetery.




          On August 13 Mrs. Maria Poprawa and the Association members Mrs. Joanna Runge-Lisowska and Mrs. Krystyna Grzelak participated in the ceremony at the place of the tank explosion in the Kiliński street.

          On August 22 Mr. Piotr Śmiłowicz laid a bunch of flowers by the plaque in the "Polonia" stadium.




          On September 8, 2019 the SPPW 1944 Association prepared and hosted its stall during the picnic that had been organized in the Bródnowski Park during VII Warszawski Kalejdoskop Edukacyjny (the 7th Warsaw Education Meeting) at the I Polish Army Armoured Division Square by the Multimedia Fountain Park in Warsaw.







          On September 20 Mrs. Maria Poprawa participated in the solemnity by the Insurgent Section of the Home Army "Obroża" soldiers at the Tarchomin Cemetery in 54 Mehoffer street in Białołęka district.









          On September 25 Mr. Maciej Janaszek-Seydlitz joined the event of unveiling the commemorating plaque in memory of General Zbigniew Ścibor-Rylski at the corner of Karolkowa and Żytnia streets in Wola district, where he laid a bunch of flowers.

          On October 1 in the Great Auditorium of the Royal Castle in Warsaw there occured a solemn concert on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising's end. The following Association members participated in that event: Mr. Maciej Białecki, Mrs. Halina Grabowska, Mrs. Krystyna Grzelak, Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Barbara Rumianek.

          On October 2 the Stanisław Theatre in the Royal Łazienki park was the place of a solemnity devoted to the Contest "Wawa Bohaterom" ("Warsaw in honour of the Heroes"). The SPPW 1944 Association was one of social organisations nominated to the awards. A diploma for our Association was collected by Mrs. Maciej Janaszek-Seydlitz.







          In the evening of October 2 Mrs. Maria Poprawa and Mrs. Halina Grabowska participated in the ceremony on the Warsaw Uprising Hill.
