The exhibition "Nazajutrz - the Day After"

          On October 30, 2009 the Culture Information Centre - Info Kultura at the 4 Konstytucja Square in Warsaw witnessed the introduction of the exhibition "Nazajutrz - the Day After" devoted to the lot of inhabitants of Warsaw after August 1, 1944.




          The exhibition was prepared by both the Foundation for Polish-German Reconciliation and Info Kultura with cooperation of the State Archive in Warsaw, the Warsaw Uprising Museum as well as the Association of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association (SPPW 1944).

          The solemnity was inaugurated by the chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Polish-German Reconciliation, Mr. Dariusz Pawło¶.





          He welcomed the participants of the meeting:
          - the representatives of associations of people harmed by the Third Reich, including the members of SPPW 1944, Mrs. Jolanta Kolczyńska, Mr. Andrzej Rumianek and Mr. Henryk Łagodzki,
          - the authors of memories which had been put at the exhibition: Mr. Eugeniusz Tyrajski and Mr. Witold Konecki,
          - the beneficiaries of the Foundation for Polish-German Reconciliation,
          - the employees of the City Hall Community Office,
          - the representatives of institutions co-operating with the Foundation,
          - the representatives of the media.

          

          Afterwards, the following persons made speeches:
          - Mrs. Wanda Górska - the deputy manager of the Culture Office in Warsaw,
          - Mr. Ryszard Wojtkowski - the head of the State Archive in Warsaw,
          - Mr. Maciej Janaszek-Seydlitz - the vice-president of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising Remembrance Association,
          - Mr. Bogdan Bartnikowski - the witness of history, former prisoner of KL Auschwitz (concentration camp Auschwitz).

          Other people were also eager to discuss:
          - Mr. Zdzisław Zaborski - the chairman of the History Commision ¦ZŻAK of District Warszawa-Powiat ("Obroża"),
          - Mr. Eugeniusz Tyrajski - the insurgent of the Home Army regiment "Baszta", former war captive,
          - Mr. Witold Konecki - the insurgent of the Home Army battalion "Chrobry I", former war captive.

          After allocutions the assembler visited the exhibition situated at the Konstytucja Square in Warsaw, in front of the Info Kultura seat.


          

          The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Konstytucja Square till the Middle of November 2009.
